Community Self-help Home "Step On"
The "Step on" Community Self-help Home is an organizational unit of the Association established in 2011 in Białobrzegi (Zamość Municipality). The center is attended by people who, having left the educational system, want to benefit from social activation and rehabilitation in order to further their personal development in adult life, participate in the life of local communities and exercise their civic rights. The Centre was established thanks to great commitment of parents and people with disabilities associated in the Association, as well as with support of the Zamość Municipality, which leased and then sold us the building of the former elementary school. The Center operates on behalf of the Zamość County and currently provides comprehensive daily social support, including transportation, to 30 people and their families. The Centre in Białobrzegi is the only facility of its kind in our region, specialising in therapeutic activities for adults with coupled movement dysfunctions, intellectual disabilities, or neurological disorders.
