Zofia and Jan Kulakowski Center for Social Activation of Disabled Persons
The Zofia and Jan Kulakowski Center for Social Activation of Disabled Persons is an organizational unit of the Association established in 2011 in Białobrzegi (Zamość Municipality). The center offers group trainings of independence and living for adults with disabilities during all-week stays. Trainings organized within the framework of the projects concern mainly training in independent living and activities in the area of home and social life, i.e.: shopping, meal preparation, housework, living in a local community and cooperation in a group of peers, social and civic activities, use of cultural goods, sports, celebration of holidays. The center has the character of a family home and is adapted to the needs of people with disabilities, which makes it possible for people with significant motor dysfunctions to carry out household activities with a little support from independence trainers. Outside, they have a vegetable garden, recreational areas and a nearly two-acre park at their disposal. The all-week stays, organized for people with disabilities from Zamość and Zamość County, are an important element of strengthening the family and relieving it from the obligation of constant care.
